BridalOp vs Poppy Bridal

Poppy Bridal and BridalOp both ship modern, all-in-one platforms for bridal boutiques. Here's where they differ on features, payments, and price.

The short version

Poppy Bridal is the closest thing to a direct BridalOp competitor on the market — both are modern, both use flat pricing, both cover the core POS, booking, inventory, and payment plans. But the similarity stops at the feature list.

Poppy locks you into Gravity Payments (via Clover Flex / Mini or PAX A920 Pro terminals) for integrated card processing at a flat 2.8%. Without Gravity you lose integrated payments entirely. BridalOp lets you connect your existing Stripe or Square account and keep your rates and bank relationship.

Poppy is also missing several features that bridal boutiques routinely ask for: gift cards, Google Calendar sync, QuickBooks Online integration, alterations tracking, consignment tracking, a customer portal, and an AI assistant. BridalOp ships all of these at a $100/mo higher base price.

Where BridalOp wins

Your own payment processor

Poppy only integrates with Gravity Payments via Clover or PAX terminals. If you already run Stripe or Square, Poppy wants you to switch. BridalOp plugs directly into your existing processor — no new merchant account, no new hardware contract, no new rate sheet to negotiate.

Gift cards (in-store + online)

Gift card sales are a meaningful revenue stream for bridal boutiques, especially around holidays and bridal shows. Poppy doesn't offer gift cards. BridalOp ships both in-store and public-URL online gift card sales at no extra cost.

Google Calendar 2-way sync

Poppy has no Google Calendar integration. BridalOp pushes appointments to Google and pulls personal events back as blocked time — so you can manage your work calendar from one place.

Alterations + consignment + commissions

Three features common to mature boutiques that Poppy doesn't offer: alteration tracking with ticket stubs, consignment tracking with vendor reports, and commission calculation per sale. BridalOp includes all three.

QuickBooks Online sync

Poppy has no accounting integration. BridalOp pushes sales, payments, invoices, and refunds to QuickBooks Online automatically so your bookkeeper doesn't need to re-key anything.

Viewed logs for invoices & contracts

Know the moment a bride opens her invoice or contract. BridalOp tracks opens and views with a full timestamped audit trail. Poppy does not track document views.

What Poppy Bridal does well

Poppy deserves credit where it's due: their UI is clean and modern, the flat $199/mo pricing is genuinely attractive for smaller boutiques, and the platform covers the core basics (POS, appointments, inventory, payment plans, two-way texting, barcode label printing) without making you upgrade to a higher tier. If your boutique primarily needs those basics and you're happy to run on Gravity Payments, Poppy works.

The case for BridalOp over Poppy is about two things: the features Poppy doesn't have (and routinely gets asked for), and the freedom to keep your existing payment processor. If you want gift cards, Google Calendar sync, QuickBooks, alterations, consignment, a customer portal, or an AI assistant, BridalOp is a full $100/mo more but you get all of them.
